Hangang Nightscape Tour: Let the lights on the river fill your evening with romance
Introduction
As the sun sets, city lights spill across the river and the ripples glow softly in the night. It’s the hour when the scent of grass on the breeze blends with distant city sounds; the slower you walk, the deeper the night view sinks in.

Bring comfortable clothing and photo gear
This is a relaxation-focused walking tour where you enjoy guided storytelling as the starlight and moonlight over the Hangang blend with the city’s glow. Choose between two routes: the Banpo Moonlight Trail, which links Seorae Island, Some Sevit (Sebitseom), the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain, and Jamsu Bridge at Banpo Hangang Park; and the Yeouido Starlight Trail, which connects Hangang Art Park, Yeouinaru, Mapo Bridge, Mulbit Stage, and Mulbit Square at Yeouido Hangang Park.
Small-group activities such as making a mood light or launching an LED wish boat add a lasting emotional touch to the night. Participation is free, and selection is by lottery.
Program Details
Starting at the Banpo Information Center, take in the nightscape along a walking route that threads the calm of Seorae Island, the media art of Some Sevit (Sebitseom), the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain, and Jamsu Bridge.

In the Banpo section, make a “Letter-in-a-Light” mood lamp; in the Yeouido section, write a wish on an LED paper boat and set it afloat, and enjoy the starlight photo zone.

Impressions (Visited/Planned)
Today is November 6, 2025. Since the “Hangang Nightscape Tour” runs from April 25 to November 30, we’re now in the final stretch of the season. I’ve already gone a few times, and I feel that familiar urgency not to miss the last chances.
A few days ago, I joined the tour. The air had turned crisp, yet a trace of spring and summer lingered along the riverside; with every unhurried step, the scent of grass and river water seemed to wash over me like a wave. On the Banpo Moonlight Trail, the quiet of Seorae Island, the glimmering media art at Some Sevit, and the gentle ripples by Jamsu Bridge whispering under the lights were especially memorable. The distant city noise beyond the guide’s voice somehow made the night feel warmer.
If you choose the Yeouido Starlight Trail, when the fountain lights leap at Mulbit Stage Plaza, or when you gaze from Mapo Bridge at the water reflecting Seoul’s skyline, the thrill of the moment defies words. Even though the tour is free, the prepared activities—like launching LED paper boats and making mood lights—left plenty of small, sentimental memories. You can apply up to five days before the tour date; participants are selected by lottery. As the weather turns colder, be sure to bring a warm outer layer and comfortable shoes.

As you walk along the city lights spread across the river, the Hangang Nightscape Tour naturally slows your pace. Choose one of the two routes to hear stories of light with a guide, and add warm, small-scale activities to deepen your night.
If you want to catch both sunset and the night view before the season ends, now is the time. Bring comfortable walking shoes and a warm layer, and stroll slowly along the riverside bathed in light.
