Impressions (Visit/Plan)
Today is November 20, 2025. Since ‘Culture Day Youth Mic (Chungcheong Region)’ runs from March 25 to November 30, I visited as the festival nears its end. The warmth and sound of the venue, and the faces of the people there, still linger vividly. The stage I saw was on a summer night at Sogeumjeong Park in Danyang, around the Dalmaji Pocha. As the drowsy sunlight faded and dusk settled, the beats of samulnori spread through the air, and the delicate guitar lines of an acoustic duo softly wrapped around my ears, drawing me in without effort. Hedi’s voice drifted calmly like glints of light on water, and the breaths and applause of the audience blended as one, heightening the mood of the night.
Stages under the banner of “Youth Circus, Music Show” also rose across the Chungcheong region. In Hongsan-myeon, Buyeo-gun, the resonance of traditional music filled the wide-open space, and people of different generations faced one another, sharing applause and admiration. I was especially impressed by performances like “서의철가단,” “나린,” and “미지니,” where your heart sways the moment their voices reach you. The appeal of shows like these lies not only in watching, but in feeling together.
The freshness of the air before the performance, the warmth of the spotlights on stage, and even the soft breaths of people listening on the grass all stacked up into a single memory. In those moments, everyone became part of the festival at their own pace and in their own way. If you plan to sit on the lawn, a small mat or blanket makes it more comfortable. This festival shows, at heart, how culture can seep into everyday life.
