Program Information

Viewing Zone – Walking Through Time in Light

Along the walking paths around the lake, the “Walking Through Time in Light, A Path Where Memories Linger” continues. Sculptures that visualize the legend of Jangjamot and winter fairy tales glow quietly, offering an experience that feels like following one long storybook just by walking.

Harmony Zone – Where Everyday Life Meets Festival

With the concept of “where the light festival meets everyday streets,” this area is where citizens can freely linger, chat, and take photos. The cozy atmosphere of an everyday resting place naturally blends with the excitement of the festival, making it easy to enjoy a more relaxed, stay‑type nighttime stroll.

Lighting Ceremony (October 18)

The lighting ceremony marking the opening of the festival takes place on October 18. It’s a special moment where the entire lake and park light up at once, letting you feel the atmosphere of the light festival that follows all in one instant.

Experience Yard (Weekends, 1st–3rd Weeks of November)

Every Saturday and Sunday from the 1st to 3rd week of November, a variety of citizen‑participation programs are offered, including face painting, LED fire‑swing play, and bubble experiences. These hands‑on activities are ideal for children, letting you move your body and feel the light and sound up close.

Linked Event: Jangjamot Festival

A festival set against the backdrop of Jangjamot is held in tandem, featuring programs that blend local stories and traditions. Performances and events that suit the lakeside setting further enrich the emotional atmosphere of the light festival.

Music Creative Studio 2025 Light Festival Concert

The 2025 Light Festival Concert presented by the Guri Music Creative Studio allows you to enjoy music against the backdrop of the lake at night. Quiet walks paired with live performances make it perfect for spending an emotional evening.

Dance Feast with Guri Citizens

The “5th Dance Feast with Guri Citizens” is held as a linked event, showcasing a variety of performances with citizen participation. Light, music, and dance come together throughout the park, adding to the festival’s vibrancy.

Second Half of 2025 Gyeonggi Revitalization Big Sale

In connection with the “Second Half of 2025 Gyeonggi Revitalization Big Sale,” you can also enjoy supporting local businesses while visiting the festival. Before or after your nighttime walk, take a look around nearby shops and cafes and enjoy the small pleasures of local spending.

Visit (Planned) Impressions

Today is November 29, 2025, right in the middle of the Guri Light Festival period (October 18 ~ December 25, 2025). Having already experienced the festival, it’s also a moment to tuck away the scenery and feelings that will continue in the weeks ahead. Last weekend, I walked through the Guri Light Festival under the darkness draped over Jangja Lake Park. The lights surrounding the lakeside were gently reflected on the surface, creating the illusion that tiny stars were floating above the water.

In front of the photo zone where the character “Bboguri” floated as a giant balloon, children’s laughter and the sound of camera shutters mingled, deepening the night’s mood. The sweet smell of snacks drifting through the air and the warm aroma of coffee gently warmed both body and heart, even in the slightly biting cold. True to the festival theme, “Walking Through Time in Light,” the light installations scattered along the path each seemed to tell their own story, and with every step between them, the scenery appeared to change just a little.

Standing before the works inspired by the legend of Jangjamot, there was a sense of tradition and fairy tale overlapping. In interactive areas like the LED fire‑swing and bubble experiences, it felt as if the sparkle reached all the way to the children’s fingertips. Some sections were crowded on weekend evenings, but if you shifted directions once or twice along the web of paths, there came a moment when it felt as though you were walking alone with your thoughts. The contrast between the lake and the lights after the late‑afternoon sun had vanished and darkness had fully settled was especially captivating, and the need to bundle up in warm clothing was felt keenly throughout my body. I naturally found myself wanting to return a few more times before the festival ends, to meet these stories of light again at different times and from different angles.
