Introduction
Along a path lined with the hush of wind through the trees and the murmur of water, sculpture and architecture walk side by side with everyday life. As early winter light drifts in, the textures of the works grow clearer, and the city slowly becomes an open-air museum.

Since 2005, Anyang City has connected the entire city into an open-air museum through the Anyang Public Art Project (APAP), installing public artworks throughout its forests, streams, and everyday spaces. The APAP Artwork Tour is a program where you walk through Anyang Art Park and the Pyeongchon area with a docent, appreciating works from APAP editions 1 through 7.
On site, you’ll hear stories from diverse genres—art, sculpture, architecture, design, performance—and feel the sense of place steeped in the city’s layered history and culture.
Program Information
Walk along the forest and stream to view 15–20 APAP public artworks. A docent guides you through the context of the works and the texture of the places.
Follow a route that links urban parks and everyday spaces to encounter about ten works. Experience where everyday life and art meet.
As dusk falls and the lights come on, take in the works in a calmer, different atmosphere. The landscapes shaped by light and shadow are striking.
Visit 15–20 key works in Anyang Art Park with commentary by a professional English-speaking docent. Recommended for visitors who need foreign-language guidance.
The tour is a 60–90 minute walking course; we recommend comfortable, slip-resistant shoes.
Closed every Monday—please exclude Mondays when planning your visit.
On-site payment is by card only; advance booking via Naver Reservation or the foundation website is convenient.
Mixed city and forest route; dress light
Special tours are priced separately
Impressions (Visit/Planned)
Today is November 6, 2025. The APAP Artwork Tour runs from April 2 to November 30, 2025. So we’re just past the final stretch, yet the program is still ongoing. Expressions like “I’m on my way” or “I’m experiencing it now” suit the timing better than “I plan to go soon.”
The APAP Artwork Tour felt like a walking path where Anyang’s nature and city breathe hand in hand. With docent commentary at 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, we walked around Anyang Art Park and Pyeongchon Central Park. Sunlight filtering through the woods, shadows of sculptures slipping between dusted stones, and the whisper of leaves in the wind seeped in deep. Over the 60–90 minutes of each session, the warmth of art tucked into everyday urban life felt close at hand.
Among this steady program, the Night Tour at dusk was especially memorable. The works quietly breathed in a mood different from daytime, and along paths where tree shadows stretched long, light and darkness seemed to converse. Roadside works in Pyeongchon used traffic noise and footsteps as their backdrop, showing how art can be part of everyday life.
The price is easy on the wallet, too. Adults are 2,000 won and youth 1,000 won (19 and under), reflecting an effort to lower the barrier to art. The APAP Archive permanent exhibition is free—like a warm gift for those who want to understand APAP’s history and philosophy. You can take a calm look at the background of each work, the artist’s intent, and the traces of maintenance within the context of Anyang. As temperatures drop around sunset, a light outer layer is a good idea.

In Closing
The APAP Artwork Tour invites you to meet public art calmly along paths connecting the city’s forests, streams, and everyday spaces. The 60–90 minute walk with a docent slowly reveals the texture of the city of Anyang, with reasonable pricing that lowers the barrier to entry.
As the angle of light and the grain of the wind change, so do the expressions of the works. In the remaining period, slip on comfortable shoes, bring a light heart, and stroll through this open-air museum.
