Overview

The Gifted Science Education Festival is a place of learning and growth where you can see the academic achievements of gifted science education in Korea at a glance and share the research outcomes and inquiry achievements of the students who are at its core. The 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education and related public institutions, which lead policy, share their past outcomes and future directions, allowing visitors to take a multi-dimensional look at the present and future of gifted science education.

As we enter the AX (Advanced Transformation) era, in which the pace of change is accelerating, this year’s festival is held under the theme, “Gifted in Science, Lighting Up the AX Era.” Anyone interested in gifted science education is welcome to participate freely. Through various exhibition programs, gifted science creative research presentations, education institution booths, and policy outcomes sharing sessions, it will be a meaningful time to think together about how to view and solve the challenges of future society.

Visit (Planned) Impressions

Today is November 27, 2025. The “2025 Gifted Science Education Festival” is a one-day event held on December 23, 2025, so it hasn’t started yet. I’m currently in that light, excited mood of getting ready to attend soon. Looking into the upcoming festival, I learned that this year’s theme is “Gifted in Science, Lighting Up the AX Era.” It will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the International Conference Room of the Science and Technology Convention Center, with programs such as students’ creative research presentations, youth science outcomes exhibitions, and sharing sessions by policy-leading organizations. I can already picture the quiet conference room slowly warming up with the energy of presentations and discussions.

Imagining these programs, I see myself moving slowly through every corner of the exhibition hall, taking in the research projects one by one, with each unique idea shining in its own way. The fact that admission is free and open to anyone interested in gifted science education also feels reassuring. Through the various side events—exhibitions, experiences, and the stamp tour—I expect to take in the scent of science, students’ slightly shy presentation voices, and the growing sense of anticipation filling the air. The moment I’m looking forward to most is when students step onto the presentation stage and share their research.

I feel as if I can already see the hands that are still putting the finishing touches on their materials, and even if the stage lights feel a bit overwhelming, I believe that, in that moment, their research will remain as a light touching real life. I also hope to gain a clearer picture of the future of gifted science education as I listen to the policy concerns shared by education offices and public institutions. Once I arrive at the venue, I plan to first scan the overall layout and then choose times when the crowd thins a little to divide up my visit between exhibitions and hands-on programs.
