Christmas Village Busan 2025 is a Santa-village-themed Christmas market held over about a month from November 27 to December 25 at the Busan Cinema Center, spanning an area of around 33,000 m². About 150 brands, including Busan locals and popular labels, come together to present a wide range of international cuisine and Christmas-only menus, living and lifestyle gift shops, and pop-up stores.
Planned as a food theme park–style festival, this event brings together some 70 Busan local F&B brands and about 40 lifestyle retail brands, with official mentor chef Kang Leo joining in the menu concept and operations. With Christmas-themed food, sights, and activities throughout, this is the largest Christmas market that can only be experienced here for one month, making it a great place to feel both the warmth and liveliness of winter in Busan.
Program Information
This food zone centers on Busan local F&B brands and lets you try Christmas menus from around the world in one place. Seasonal limited dishes and warm winter drinks are available to make even the cold winter nights feel cozy.
About 40 lifestyle brands take part, offering everything from winter interior décor items to practical household goods. It’s a great place to slowly browse for year-end gifts and items to refresh the atmosphere at home.
Parades and performances that match the Santa Village concept roam across the plaza, heightening the festive mood. They are great to watch with children and offer plenty of scenes worth capturing in photos and videos.
The night at Christmas Village truly begins when the approximately 8-meter-tall giant tree lights up. Chandelier-like strings of lights, media art, and artificial snow come together to create one of the festival’s signature photo spots.
At various pop-up stores including the “Santa Village Christmas Gift Shop,” you can purchase year-end gift goods and limited items. From small knickknacks to special presents, browsing each booth is a lot of fun.
Programs such as recruiting “Santa apprentices” and other hands-on events invite citizens to participate directly. They’re designed so visitors feel less like spectators and more like members of this Santa Village.
The festival runs daily from 11:00 to 22:00. It mainly operates Thursday through Sunday, but runs every day from December 22 to 25, so it’s best to double-check the operating days before your visit.
If you want to enjoy the lights, media art, and artificial snow performance together, visiting between 18:00 and 20:00 is recommended. Photos and videos look most atmospheric during this time.
On weekends and just before Christmas, crowds can lead to long waits and slow movement. If possible, use public transportation and allow plenty of time for meals and exploring for a more comfortable visit.
Stand near where you want to watch about 10 minutes before key performances begin.
On weekends and right before Christmas, crowds are heavy, so plan your route with extra time.
Impressions (Planned/Current Visit)
Today is December 1, 2025. Christmas Village Busan 2025 started on November 27 and continues until December 25, so the festival is still underway. At this point, phrases like “I’m experiencing the festival in person” or “I’m in the middle of my visit” feel more natural than “I’m planning to go.”
Just imagining the plaza in front of the Busan Cinema Center transforming into a Christmas Santa Village is enough to warm your heart. In the dimming evening light, an approximately 8-meter-tall giant tree towers under a canopy of twinkling lights, creating a majestic atmosphere. As the chandelier-like lights strung around the plaza and the tree’s soft golden glow gradually come on, the excitement builds so much that even in the cold air, the tip of your nose tingles. The scent of wooden ornaments carried on the breeze, the winter chill, and the warmth shared by people blend together so that the word “Christmas” seems to come alive inside you.
This festival is truly deserving of the phrase “food theme park–style festival,” with a rich lineup of food, activities, and sights. Around 70 Busan local F&B brands are participating with seasonal limited menus, and renowned chef Kang Leo has curated this lineup with a keen sense of atmosphere. With Santa gift shops, pop-up stores, and many participatory events, you can feel less like a mere visitor and more like a resident of this little village. With every step, it feels as if the walls are lined with flowers and wreaths, and a warm winter coffee is always in hand; your heart slowly begins to melt.
The unique ambiance of the Busan Cinema Center itself blends seamlessly into the festival. Thanks to the wide outdoor plaza and its location along Suyeonggangbyeon-daero, the sounds of winter in Busan ride the wind and reach you closely. As you walk, listening to the laughter of people around you, the music along the street, and the carols playing beneath the tree, the sea and the city become one sweeping scene. As the festival hits its peak, the lights glow even warmer, and although your fingertips grow cold, your heart feels completely filled with warmth. It’s lovely to arrive leisurely around sunset and stay into the night, slowly taking in the lights, sounds, and winter air.
